What is RLCraft
RLCraft is a hardcore, semi-realistic survival pack for Minecraft 1.12.2 built around RPG progression and dangerous exploration. Its author describes it as unfairly difficult and says you will die a lot. Players run it with friends on a private server to share the grind.

Survival with no hand-holding
You cannot punch trees. Tools are made from flint, sticks and grass string, and blocks only drop with the right tool. The pack ships a quick start guide because the early game is that different from vanilla.
RPG systems and hostile worlds
The pack layers custom scripts over vanilla behavior and a hand-picked set of mods, tuned by the author to work together. The result is tougher mobs, realism mechanics and long adventures away from spawn.
Built for a group
Friends can share a base, a death toll and the loot from the same world. A private server keeps the world running while players come and go.

Single-thread tick speed
Minecraft 1.12.2 ticks the world on one main thread, and RLCraft adds scripted mob and survival behavior on top. The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X gives that thread the clock speed it needs.
Exploration and worldgen
RLCraft rewards long trips, and every new chunk has to be generated and saved. NVMe storage keeps chunk loading and world saves from stalling the server.
Protected, backed up worlds
A hardcore world is worth protecting. DDoS protection keeps the server reachable, and 128 backup slots let you roll back after a bad crash or a corrupted save.
